Upcoming ‘Fame’ Remake Latest in Slew of 80s Rehashes

With the remake of Footloose on its way faster than you can say “Gag me with a spoon”, it has become clear that Hollywood’s shameless cannibalizing of 80s pop culture has reached epidemic proportions. And just as we were starting to get over the Friday the 13th remake, there’s a new one to take it’s place. A brand new version of  Fame is coming this fall. Joss Whedon’s ‘Wonder’-ful Remake

wonderThe gears are finally in motion for Joss Whedon‘s big screen remake of Wonder Woman. It will be coming to a theater near you in 2011. And who will be playing the iconic character? According to WENN, it’s become a coveted role for many young Hollywood actresses. Eliza Dushku seems to be the favorite, so far. The original Wonder Woman Lynda Carter even gave her blessing: “Eliza would make a great Wonder Woman.” Other actresses being mentioned in association with the project are Megan Fox and Beyonce. Guy Ritchie Remaking ‘Guys and Dolls’

So apparently Guy Ritchie is in Hollywood writing the script for a remake of the classic Guys and Dolls. Let’s hope he does a better job with it than he did with his last remake, Swept Away, which, at the very least, we can thank for Madonna‘s retirement from the wonderful world of acting. Chace Crawford To Star In ‘Footloose’ Remake

footIt’s official: Footloose is going to suck…again! Today, Paramount Pictures confirmed that Zac Efron, er, I mean Chace Crawford (who can tell the difference anyway?) will be taking over the much-coveted role of Ren in the upcoming remake of Footloose.
